We had a very exciting day on Sunday when our recently acquired caravan arrived on the farm! After much pushing around by Kate, Leo and I it’s in position between the long barn and the cart shed, sheltered from the elements and on flat ground. Celebratory ice cream all round and then the first cup of tea seated comfortably inside.
Leo and Emily measured the soil pH in the growing area and the field and it seems to be neutral, so good for growing most vegetables and fruit trees. I attempted to move some of the concrete chunks that were foundations off the growing area but soon decided they were to heavy for just me an a wheelbarrow. Emily, Lucy and I picked an enormous bucket of blackberries which is now several more jars of jam! Kate opened every cupboard in the caravan to discover the table and turned the end seating into bunkbeds for the girls to test out. We’re all very excited at how this will make working onsite easier during the winter ahead.
