plumbing matters

Two minor plumbing crises this week. The first was a timely spot by Emily that a hose connected to the tap in the dairy had sprung a leak and was merrily soaking nearly everything in there with a fine jet of water – floor to ceiling. Fortunately it was pretty much all salvageable.

The second was when lovely visitor Laura put the sawdust down the small opening at the front of the separator in our very excellent toilet. The pipe reserved for wee! I have to say that unblocking that was a doddle compared with the conventional WC.

Laura thoroughly redeemed herself though by some serious weeding in the courtyard.

Picked our first big tomato – weighrd in at 450gms (1lb in old money). Don’t know whether to eat it or stuff it, or both,
