The Open House Project hosted a visit in February from a group of academics, researchers and Cohousing specialists, as part of a conference called Shared Futures. Following the conference came a briefing document that was launched in Parliament in June, with the aim of influencing housing policy and practice across the UK.
Looking through the document it was great to see our project featured on page 13. “The Open House Project is an urban-fringe farmstead being developed into seven dwellings, communal facilities and shared external spaces by a group of family and friends”.
It is great to know that what we are doing may help and influence others in their projects, but also a chance that in some small way it could help shape future government policy!
